Thank you! I had no idea what to do with the BG, so I just did a quick gradient in MS Paint. XD Turned out pretty well, I guess. ;]

I think comments are a much better compliment than favorites, since some people are fav-whores and just fave EVERYTHING, but a comment takes a moment of their time to say something about your work is good - it's so much nicer to read "I love the lighting!" than "Soandso has added Whatever to their favorites"

I agree entirely. I must confess that my tendency to comment here on DeviantArt is starting to slip, though, because it seems as if very few bother to respond... Users that doesn't respond are a big turn-off to me, because it makes me feel as if they don't appreciate the feedback. :(

Oh, me too! And also users who don't write Artist's Comments - it's like, you don't have ANYTHING to say about your work? Then why should I say anything, either?

And it's SO irritating to come into your dA and be like "25 new messages?!" and then it's like..."soandso has favorited EVERYTHING IN YOUR FUCKING GALLERY" and the worst part is when they don't Watch you - it's like - you mean there's NO CHANCE that ANYTHING I could possibly put out after this would interest you?

Man, that is one of my pet peeves.

I'm guilty of not writing a description for some of my pieces because sometimes there's just really nothing for me to say, and I prefer to let the piece speak for itself. But I guess I understand what you're saying about that.

I can understand that, but there are some things I'd really like to see in a description - like, even for photographs (which are the most guilty of no descriptions) just a note of where it was taken, or what camera, or something. I mean, just

"Vienna
August

Canon Powershot #whatever"

would be better than nothing, I think. But maybe that's just me.
